“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this:God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ” (Acts 2:36).
There is a prophetic scene in the book of Kings in the Bible in which there seems to be a reference at least to the resurrection (2 Kings 11:1-12). Athalian, Jezebel’s daughter had attempted to destroy all the royal seed. She thought she had had succeeded, but one “from among the slain” was taken and hidden in the temple of the Lord till the time for his proclamation as King. He was the heir to the throne, but a Usurper reigned. It was just as now. The heir to the same throne, the throne of David and the throne of Jehovah (1 Chronicles 39:23), is hidden for a time in the presence of God, and will not be seen by the world till “the crowning day that’s coming.” The Usurper thought to have destroyed him on Calvary; but he rose from the dead, and will soon take his power and reign.
